Abstract: This talk will provide a comparison of Subversion to Git and Mercurial.
Like Subversion, Git and Mercurial are mature, freely available, and Open Source version control systems. All three tools share a lot of their favourable aspects, while at the same time differing from one another in various ways.
This talk attempts to explain and compare the basic technical concepts of the versioning models used by these tools, advantages and limitations which arise from these concepts, as well as taking a look at factors important for every-day usage such as tool support, distributed development, authorization, and usability.
